Biography

Luca Enriques is Professor of Corporate Law at the University of Oxford Faculty of Law. Formerly, he was Professor of Business Law at the Department of Law (2013-14) of LUISS (Rome), Nomura Visiting Professor of International Financial Systems at Harvard Law School (2012-13) and Professor of Business Law at the University of Bologna Faculty of Law (1999-2012). From 2007 to 2012 he was a commissioner at Consob, the Italian Securities and Exchange Commission. Before then, he was a consultant to Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton and an adviser to the Italian Ministry of the Economy and Finance on matters relating to corporate, banking and securities law with a special focus on European policy initiatives. He worked at the Bank of Italy in the banking supervision department between 1996 and 1999.
