The Centre for Commercial Law and Regulatory Studies (or CLARS, as it is popularly known) is a Monash University Law Centre, focused on innovative research in the areas of corporate/ commercial law and regulation.
CLARS at Monash University Law School facilitates innovative research in commercial law, corporate governance and regulation. The Centre includes select Monash University academics and postgraduate students, as well as visiting scholars and research partners from around the world. The Centre promotes discussion and dissemination of commercial and corporate law research through scholarly publications, seminars and conferences, and actively engages with the legal and business communities, policy makers, and regulators.
CLARS Highlights
This edition focuses on our expanding presence across Monash University’s international campuses in Prato, Italy, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia - symbolised by our cover shot of the Kuala Lumpur skyline.
Key achievements include:
- The official launch of our new CLARS Hub in Kuala Lumpur, established at the request of the Malaysian Government, along with co-hosting the 2026 Asian Corporate Law Forum (ACLF) conference at Monash University Malaysia.
- Insights from international events, including our corporate accountability conference in Italy, and other industry dialogues connecting researchers with practitioners, business leaders, regulators, and policymakers.
- Local Melbourne regulatory and policy forums, and opportunities for Monash Law students.
- Contributions to education, teaching and research shaping modern commercial law and regulatory policy.
