Bocconi University, the DFG LawFin Center at Goethe University in Frankfurt, the LSE Law School, the Faculty of Law of the University of Oxford, and the Institute for Law & Economics at the University of Pennsylvania, together with ECGI, are pleased to announce the convening of the 5th edition of the conference on “The Law and Finance of Private Equity and Venture Capital” on 25-26 June 2026, at Goethe University in Frankfurt.
Attendance will be by invitation only.
Paper Submission
Conference organisers seek to attract research of the highest scholarly quality in the fields of law and finance related to private equity (PE) and venture capital (VC), broadly defined, to be presented at the conference. While the focus is on PE and VC, submissions addressing related aspects of private markets more generally are also of interest. Submissions of papers that would benefit from multidisciplinary and practitioner input are particularly welcomed. The organisers aim to foster a collegial community of scholars with a strong interest in PE/VC, across career stages and disciplines.
We invite researchers to submit either:
(1) a working paper that will not yet be published at the time of the conference
or
(2) an earlier-stage research project in the form of an extended abstract.
Submit it via email to research@lawfin.uni-frankfurt.de with the title “2026 Conference Submission” by 30 January 2026.
The organisers will select papers and discussants from among distinguished practitioners, industry representatives, policymakers, and scholars from finance, economics, and law. Authors of accepted submissions will receive a notification by the end of March 2026 and will be asked for prompt confirmation of their participation.
Kindly Note: Presenters are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation expenses.
Some funds may be available to help defray reasonable travel and accommodation expenses for presenters who indicate such need.
