Biography

Deena Elmeged is a Senior Investment Stewardship Manager at Norges Bank Investment Management based in New York City. NBIM manages Norway’s $2 trillion Government Pension Fund Global and is part of the central bank of Norway. The fund is the largest single owner in the world’s stock markets, owning about 1.5 percent of the shares in listed companies globally.

Deena focusses on ownership strategies, governance policy, board-level engagement with major companies in the equity portfolio, and proxy voting. She collaborates closely with internal investment teams covering the Energy, Utilities, Metals & Mining, Chemicals, and Autos sectors globally. Deena monitors market practices for corporate governance and formulates NBIM’s position on and response to regulatory and standard setting developments related to corporate governance matters in the US and Canada. Prior to joining NBIM in 2023, Deena held multiple positions on Vanguard’s Investment Stewardship team.

Deena graduated from the George Washington University with a degree in Economics and a minor in Business Administration. In her free time, Deena enjoys playing tennis, skiing, traveling, and a spicy meal.
