This online public lecture will be given by Abraham Singer of Quinlan School of Business, Loyola University Chicago, on the topic, “Why Business Ethics is Political".
People often casually think of business ethics in terms of following their conscience. In this talk I argue that business ethics must be understood in political terms, as the responsibilities that attach to a social and institutional role. This implies a particular concern for the way business leaders wield their influence in a democratic society.
This lecture will be moderated by Suneal Bedi, Kelley School of Business, Indiana University.
Lecture date and time: Thursday, 5 March 2026 | 12:00 – 13:00 EDT (18:00 – 19:00 CET)
The public lecture series is organised by the Kelley School of Business Institute for Corporate Governance (ICG+E), in partnership with Ethical Systems and ECGI.
