Prof. Alessio Bartolacelli
Biography
Alessio Bartolacelli is Associate Professor of Business Law and European Company Law at the Department of Law of the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia, Italy (since 2023), and recurring Visiting Professor for Company Law subjects at the Riga Graduate School of Law, Latvia (since 2020). Until 2023, he was Associate Professor of Business Law and European Company Law at the Department of Law, University of Macerata, where he held the Jean Monnet Chair in Business Law in the European Union and Sustainable Economy between September 2020 and August 2023. He got his PhD in Business Law from the University of Brescia (2008). Before joining the University of Macerata (2015), he was a Research Fellow at the University of Trento (2008-2009) and the University of Bologna (2015). From 2011 to 2014, he was a Marie Curie & TRENTINO Fellow at the University of Trento, with a grant awarded by the European Commission and the Autonomous Province of Trento. His main research interests are in Company Law, with a special focus on SMEs. He has published several works on company- and enterprise-related topics, mainly in Italian, English, and Portuguese. He is a member of the Editorial Staff of the Journals Giurisprudenza Commerciale and Orizzonti del Diritto Commerciale, of the Scientific Committee of Rassegna di Diritto della Moda e delle Arti, of the Italian National Board of ECCL - European Company Case Law, and of the International Editorial Board of Głos Prawa – Allerhand Law Review.
He is the author of two monograph books and several journal articles and book chapters on issues dealing with Italian and European Company Law and Enteprise Law, in Italian, English, Portuguese and Spanish language. He also served as co-editor of books in Italy and abroad.
