Professor Jeroen Delvoie

Jeroen Delvoie is a professor of law at Vrije Universiteit Brussel (part-time) and a partner at Eubelius law firm.

At VUB, Jeroen teaches a class on an advanced company law and corporate governance in the final year of the law school curriculum.

Jeroen Delvoie obtained a law degree from VUB in 1999 and an LL.M. from the University of Chicago in 2000. He practiced law at Eubelius law firm from 2000-2004 before returning to VUB to pursue a doctoral thesis from 2004-2009 on a fellowship from the Flemish fund for scientific research (FWO). He obtained his doctoral degree from VUB in 2010.

The book based on his doctoral thesis ("Orgaantheorie in rechtspersonen van privaatrecht", Intersentia, 2010) was awarded the triennial Pierre Coppens Prize of the Université Catholique de Louvain and the Revue Pratique des Sociétés.

Jeroen Delvoie has published on subjects concerning the law of obligations, company law and corporate governance. He is, amongst others, editor of a book on the Belgian corporate governance law of 2002 (Kluwer, 2004). Current research projects include the role of long-term shareholders in corporate governance, director liability, and corporate governance in state-owned enterprises.
