2021: The John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance and the Department of Finance at the Lerner College of Business and Economics, at the University of Delaware, hosted its 2021 annual corporate governance symposium on 16 March 2021 in collaboration with the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). The winning papers, "The ESG-Innovation Disconnect: Evidence from Green Patenting" (Cohen, Gurun, Nguyen) and "The Distribution of Voting Rights to Shareholders" (Fos, Holderness) was presented and discussed with the semi-finalist’s papers for the prize. 

2022: The John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance and the Department of Finance at the Lerner College of Business & Economics, at the University of Delaware, hosted an in-person Academic Symposium in collaboration with the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) on Friday, 11 March 2022. The winning papers, "Is History Repeating Itself? The (Un)predictable Past of ESG Ratings" (Florian Berg (MIT), Kornelia Fabisik (Frankfurt), and Zacharias Sautner (Frankfurt)) and "Bargaining with Private Equity: Implications for Hospital Prices and Patient Welfare" (Tong Liu (Wharton)) were presented and discussed together with the eight semi-finalist’s papers for the prize. 2023: The John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance and the Department of Finance at the Lerner College of Business & Economics, at the University of Delaware , will hosted an in-person Academic Symposium, in collaboration with the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) on Friday, 17 March 2023. This research competition is the successor to the IRRCi Investor Research Paper Award, a prominent award garnering significant attention amongst the investment community, academia and policymakers. The John L. Weinberg/IRRCi Research Paper Award, as its predecessor did, highlights innovative research. The winning papers“Female Equity Analysts and Corporate Environmental and Social Performance” (Kai Li (University of British Columbia), Feng Mai (Stevens Institute of Technology), Gabriel Wong (Cardiff University), Chelsea Yang (University of British Columbia), and Tengfei Zhang (Rutgers University)) and "Conflicting Fiduciary Duties and Fire Sales of VC-backed Start-ups” Bo Bian (University of British Columbia), Yingxiang Li (University of British Columbia), and Casimiro A. Nigro (Goethe University) were presented and discussed together with the semi-finalist’s papers for the prize.

2024: The John L. Weinberg Center for Corporate Governance and the Department of Finance at the Lerner College of Business & Economics, at the University of Delaware , hosteded an in-person Academic Symposium, in collaboration with the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI) on Friday, 15 March 2024.
