The establishment of the European Banking Union and the associated transfer of supervisory and resolution powers from the national to the European level fundamentally alters the supervisory infrastructure in the Eurozone and places market participants under considerable pressure to adapt. This volume combines a current collection of the relevant legal sources with introductory texts on the legal policy background, institutional design, integration into substantive supervisory law, and procedural and legal protection issues. It is thus aimed at practitioners in the field, as well as academics and students, offering them not only quick access to the legal and institutional foundations and the existing implementing legislation, but also a concise overview of the EU legal context. Both editors have extensive scholarly experience in addressing these issues and bring together perspectives from various legal and economic systems.
