Professor Josef Zechner

Professor Zechner has been Professor of Finance at the Department for Finance, Accounting and Statistics since 2008. Before that, he held positions at the University of Vienna and at the University of British Columbia.  

He is Chair of the European Finance Association, Research Fellow of the Center for Economic Policy Research (CEPR), Fellow of the Finance Theory Group, Research Member of the European Corporate Governance Institute, and Past President of the European Finance Association, the Western Finance Association and the German Finance Association. He was Managing Editor of the Review of Finance (joint with Marco Pagano) and a member of the Advisory Scientific Committe of the European Systemic Risk Board (ESRB). 

Professor Zechner has consulted for various financial institutions. He is also a founding partner and a member of the scientific board of IQAM Invest, an Austrian Asset Management Company.
