How To Save The World?

In the fifteenth public lecture of this series, Professor Renée Adams, ​Professor of Finance, Saïd Business School, University of Oxford and ECGI Research member will deliver this lecture titled, "How To Save The World?"

Tackling grand challenges requires informed policymaking. In this lecture, Professor Renee Adams draws on recent research on governance to examine some of the key assumptions shaping today’s sustainability debate — from the role of boards and women in leadership to the influence of the next generation and the importance of families.

​Are directors too focused on shareholders? Will putting women and the next generation in leadership help address sustainability challenges, or should we place greater emphasis on traditional family values?

​By exploring what directors themselves think, the lecture highlights the importance of taking an evidence-based approach to good governance. It also argues that educating critical thinkers will be essential to building a better future.

This lecture will be moderated by Jenny Costelloe, Advisory Board Member, Nanyang Business School.
