Javier is currently the Departmental Lecturer in Law & Finance at the Faculty of Law, University of Oxford — where he is also pursuing a D.Phil., with research focused on bailouts and corporate insolvency law.
Before starting his D.Phil., Javier was a London-based investmente/corporate finance advisor for his own firm, and a private equity investor specialised in European commercial real estate (serving as head of acquisitions for Germany and Southern Europe at Moor Park Capital Partners LLP, a London-based pan-European real estate private equity firm).
Previously, he worked as management consultant for the Financial Institutions practice of McKinsey (as an MBA Summer intern) and as a corporate/M&A lawyer for the Private Equity and Corporate Governance practices of Uría Menéndez.

Javier graduated with an MBA (with Honours) from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania (Finance & Accounting) and with a dual degree in Law and Economics & Management from ICADE (E-3). He also holds an MSc in Taxation (Distinction) from the University of Oxford (Christ Church).
