Biography

Hans-Ueli Vogt (*1969) holds the chair for private and business law at the University of Zurich (Switzerland).
He teaches corporations and contracts and has published books and numerous articles in his
field. He has served as an expert to the Federal Government and the Federal Parliament on various
occasions. Hans-Ueli Vogt is a co-editor of the "Basler Kommentar Obligationenrecht II", a leading treatise
on Swiss corporation law, and of the "Zeitschrift für Gesellschafts- und Kapitalmarktrecht", one of
the leading law journals in the field of corporation and securities law.
In his capacity as an independent attorney, Hans-Ueli Vogt advises companies, boards, and individuals,
provides expert opinions, and acts as arbitrator. He also was Of Counsel to the law firm of Homburger
(Zurich) and worked as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell (New York).
From 2015–2021, Hans-Ueli Vogt was a Member of the National Council of Switzerland. In that capacity,
he played an important role in the revision of Swiss corporation law, which entered into force on
January 1, 2023.
Hans-Ueli Vogt is a member of the supervisory body of the Zürcher Kantonalbank (Zurich State Bank) as well as of the Board of the Swiss media company SRG SSR.
Hans-Ueli Vogt speaks German, English, French, and Italian.
