Mr Lasarus Jonker

Lasarus Jonker is an experienced corporate governance professional with over 13 years of expertise in corporate governance, company secretarial practice, regulatory compliance and board advisory services. He currently serves as Group Company Secretary of the Ohlthaver & List (O&L) Group, one of Namibia’s leading diversified business groups, where he oversees the governance and statutory compliance of more than 70 entities operating across sectors including food production, fisheries, hospitality, retail, information technology and renewable energy.

In his current role, Lasarus advises boards and executive leadership on corporate governance, directors’ duties, regulatory compliance and governance best practices. His responsibilities include strengthening governance frameworks, developing and reviewing board and committee charters, overseeing statutory compliance and supporting effective board decision-making. His work draws on established corporate governance principles, including the King IV Report on Corporate Governance and the NamCode.

Prior to joining the O&L Group, Lasarus held governance and company secretarial positions at Momentum Metropolitan Namibia and Prosperity Health Namibia. These roles provided extensive experience in board administration, regulatory compliance, corporate structures and governance within the financial services and healthcare sectors.

Lasarus holds a Bachelor of Accounting from the Namibia University of Science and Technology and is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Honours degree at the University of Namibia. His academic background in accounting, combined with his ongoing legal studies and extensive practical governance experience, provides a multidisciplinary perspective on corporate law, regulatory compliance, financial oversight and corporate accountability.
