Biography

Anne-Marie Weber is conducting academic research and teaches courses at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Warsaw, where she has received her Ph.D. in 2015. Her doctoral thesis  undertook the topic of capital market regulation as an instrument mitigating the inefficiency of public (state) ownership of corporations and was distinguished in 2016 by the Chairman of the Polish Financial Supervision Authority in the competition for the best thesis concerning financial market regulation. In 2012 Anne-Marie graduated from University of California, Berkeley School of Law. Her academic path of experience is mirrored in an established publication record including two books, several contributions to collective publications, and numerous journal articles. Her main areas of research revolve around company law and corporate governance topics and include issues such as the role of company registers, the erosion of the concept of legal capital as creditor-protection mechanism, the impact of soft law on company behaviour, the suitability of managerial remuneration schemes as corporate governance tools as well as governance issues regarding limited liability companies.
