Biography

Dr. Stefan Prigge has undertaken research into corporate governance since 1995 at HSBA Hamburg School of Business Administration, University of Hamburg, and Max Planck Institute for Foreign Private and Private International Law, Hamburg.


He holds a doctoral degree in economics from University of Hamburg (1996) with a thesis on "Central Bank, Stock Market Crash, and Systemic Risk" (in German). His second book (“Habilitationsschrift”) on “Corporate Governance Structures of German Corporations. An Empirical Analysis” (in German) was accepted by the University of Hamburg in 2006. His current research interests in governance and finance focus on family firms (since 2011) and professional football clubs.
