Biography

Mr Casimiro A. Nigro currently is an Invited Researcher at the Goethe University in Frankfurt-am-Main (since 2014), and a Ph.D. candidate in Business Law at the LUISS Guido Carli University in Rome (since 2013).

He holds a LL.M. in corporate and securities Law from the London School of Economics and Political Sciences (2012), and a top-mark degree in law from the University of Perugia (2006), where he has since then been serving as a corporate and securities law research assistant and (later on) as a lecturer; and where, more recently, he was also invited to partake as a researcher in two major research projects by investigating hedge fund-related regulation (2010-2012), and the regulatory framework concerning equity crowd-funding in Italy and the US (2013-2014), respectively.

While his research interests focus, broadly speaking, on the correlation between law and entrepreneurship, he is now specifically conducting some law and economics research on the governance of venture capital-backed firms – with a prominent focus on the exit stage.

He worked as an associate in two major international law firms (2006-2011), while he currently advices start-ups.
