Conference participants

It has come to our attention that various scam e-mail addresses have been contacting our conference speakers about their accommodation requirements for attending ECGI conferences. Please be aware that this is a scam!

This appears to be a new tactic scammers are using widely. 

Here are some of the addresses that may have sent scam emails:

Please DO NOT give out any personal information or make any payments to these or other companies. 

ECGI and GCGC are not affiliated in any way with this or any other travel agent so please ignore any calls or emails. Please block the sender if you received one of these emails. We suspect that they have found your information from the programme listing on our website.

Only a member of the ECGI team will contact you to co-ordinate your stay. All official email addresses end with "@ecgi.org"

If you have given out your credit card information to an external company or anyone who called you about booking hotel rooms for the conference, call your credit card company immediately, alert them to the scam, and deny the charge.

We take data privacy and security with the utmost importance and your contact information is not forwarded to a third party. The agencies DO NOT have access to your information through us.

Phishing emails

Occasionally, we are informed of false emails being circulated, usually pretending to be from the Chair of ECGI, Herman Daems. These emails are not being sent from Mr. Daem's address and your data has not been compromised. It would appear that the recipients of the emails are being identified from the list of members on the ECGI website.
