The 2025 Public Seminar on Corporate Law and Governance at the Crossroads, held at Singapore Management University on 7 May and co-hosted by ECGI, brought together leading scholars to explore the dynamics of power, control, and shareholder rights in controlled companies.
Featuring presentations by Jill Fisch (University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School and ECGI), Dan Puchniak (Singapore Management University - Yong Pung How School of Law and ECGI), and Wei Zhang (Singapore Management University - Yong Pung How School of Law ), the seminar examined judicial scrutiny of controlling shareholders and the rise of shareholder activism in China, followed by a panel discussion on their implications for governance in Asia.
