Biography

Nicoleta Cherciu is a corporate and technology lawyer specializing in corporate, VC/PE, M&A, artificial intelligence and robotics regulation and compliance, intelectual property and other business law related matters.

As Managing Partner of Cherciu & Co - her boutique law firm, she advises funds, family businesses and deep tech founders in cross-border transactions.

Drawing from her experience as both in-house counsel at UiPath (a Romanian unicor listed on the NYSE) in New York and founding partner of her boutique law firm, she has:

• Structured and implemented seed to Series B financing rounds across EU and US markets
• Negotiated and executed global licensing and partnership agreements worth hundreds of millions of dollars with major US corporations (Bank of America, Amazon, Intel) and the US government during UiPath's growth phase
• Led strategic M&A transactions and complex technology licensing deals
• Advised venture capital funds on formation, compliance, and investment activities
• Co-authored expert reports for the EU Parliament’s think thank and offered policy recommendations on digital platforms, AI, and robotics regulation
• Moved companies from the EU to the US.

She is currently pursuing an LL.M. at the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School with a Wharton Business and Law Certificate (2026). She will sit for the New York Bar in July 2026.

Nicoleta is a frequent speaker and moderator at startup and tech conferences and industry events, particularly on fundraising, VC, AI regulation, data compliance, technology transfers, and related governance matters.

At the same time, Nicoleta is a venture partner for a EU-based VC fund.

Currently Nicoleta is also a teaching assistant at the Wharton Business School on the family business class.
