Dr Mutasim Ahmad Alqudah
Biography
Dr. Mutasim Ahmad Alqudah is an Associate Professor of Commercial Law at Al Yamamah University in Riyadh and a senior legal, governance, and regulatory professional with more than 17 years of academic, advisory, and executive experience across Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Jordan. He holds a PhD in International Commercial Law from the University of Leicester and an LLM in International Commercial Law from the University of Kent.
Dr. Alqudah previously served as Legal Counsel to the Chancellor and University Board and as Director of the Office of Legal Affairs and Policies at United Arab Emirates University, performing a role functionally equivalent to Chief Legal Officer. In this capacity, he advised senior leadership and governing bodies on governance, regulatory and policy reform, strategic restructuring, major investment initiatives, procurement, intellectual property, and technology transfer.
His academic career spans undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral education, with teaching and research expertise in commercial law, corporate law, corporate governance, investment regulation, arbitration, competition law, and bankruptcy. He has also supervised and examined postgraduate research at leading regional and international universities.
Dr. Alqudah has published extensively in international and regional legal journals and is the author of a book on online arbitration. His research focuses particularly on corporate and commercial law, governance, investment regulation, technology and innovation policy, and the evolving legal frameworks governing institutional and economic transformation. He is a member of the Jordan Bar Association.
