Biography

Bruno is the Global Head of Corporate Governance at S&P Global Ratings, based in Madrid. He leads governance analytics, research and methodology within credit ratings with research interests in board effectiveness, sustainability governance, remuneration, AI governance & ethics, and climate litigation. He has over 18 years of international experience in corporate governance advisory, sustainable investing and policy advocacy.

He currently serves on the supervisory board of the Global Reporting Initiative as an independent non-executive director, on the Global Policy Committee of the International Corporate Governance Network and is a member of the UK Institute of Directors.

Before his current role, he was the founder of Quetzal Strategy, a global consultancy advising emerging markets companies on ESG risks, and investors on sustainable investing strategies. He was a director and Head of Latin America at Sodali where he advised boards and C-suites on corporate governance. He previously worked as a senior sustainable investing analyst at Hermes Investment Management in London, where he was the Head of Stewardship for Latin America, and in ESG research with Innovest Strategic Value Advisors.

He graduated from Durham University in Middle Eastern Studies, has a Master in International Political Economy from Warwick University, and holds certificates in corporate governance, AI, investor relations, climate risk and sustainable finance. He is fluent in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese.
