Dr. Begüm Yiğit

Begüm Yiğit is an assistant professor of commercial law at Istanbul Okan University. She also acts as a legal consultant, arbitrator and expert. Her research areas and specialization include corporate law, commercial enterprise law, intellectual property law and capital markets law.

She completed her LLB. at Galatasaray University Faculty of Law in 2013 and after graduation worked for many years as an associate attorney in prestigious law firms. She obtained her LL.M. degree from Queen Mary University of London in 2016 and received her Ph.D. degree from Galatasaray University in 2024 specializing on corporate law. During her doctoral research she spent ten months at Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law, Hamburg as a guest researcher.
