Dr. Armand R Cacacho

Dr. Armand Cacacho is an independent board member with expertise and training in the built environment, real estate, renewable energy, mortgage finance, and non-profit industries leveraging technology. With a distinguished career spanning over 30 years including international engagements, strategy, risk management, staffing, profit & loss management, and certified in AI & Data Science, he brings a wealth of experience and leadership to the boardroom.

He is a Certified Board Director in three countries: U.S. National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD.DC), Harvard Business School, Senior Accredited Board Director from the Singapore Institute of Directors (SID-SRAD), and Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Directors Philippines (FICD).

He is a Teaching Faculty member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Philippines, the country being one of the fastest growing economies in Southeast Asia. His international portfolio provides him with a global perspective, invaluable in navigating the complexities of today’s interconnected business landscape. His board service has included two joint venture boards in the built-environment industry in the US: one was formed by a Fortune 200 legacy corporation business unit where he served as Vice Chairman, and the other was a company that was bought by a British publicly-listed multinational company that entered the U.S. market. Additionally, he served on committees of two California non-profit organizations serving as Committee Chairman and as Co-Chairman on the other. He serves on the board of a foundation of one of the largest cooperatives in the Philippines.

As Teaching Faculty member of the Institute of Corporate Directors Philippines, he has delivered continuing director education masterclasses on innovation strategies to over a thousand board directors, C-Suite, and other senior executives of publicly-listed and multinational corporations in Asia.

Post-MBA education included Audit & Risk Oversight Committees in a New Era of Governance (Harvard Business School), AI Governance for Board of Directors (Stanford Law School's Directors College Rock Center for Corporate Governance), Strategy & Innovation Specialty (Stanford Graduate School of Business), Global Management & Business (Stanford University), Energy Innovation and Emerging Technologies Program (Stanford School of Engineering), Disruptive Innovation Strategy & Entrepreneurship Programs (Harvard Business School), Machine Learning (DeepLearning.AI), Artificial Intelligence for Business (Wharton), Executive Data Science Specialization (Johns Hopkins University), Block Chain Specialization (INSEAD), and Exponential Technologies (Singularity University, Silicon Valley). His Ph.D. research at Selinus Business School is titled "From Risk Factor to Boardroom Mandate: AI Governance Architecture and Enterprise Value in U.S. Public Companies". He received a Ph.D. in Management and Leadership from The Thames International University, Paris, France (h.c.) and he is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in the USA. 

Armand was recognized by the late President George H. W. Bush, Sr. for his leadership in the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community and won awards from various industry and professional organizations in the USA. One of his projects was featured in a UK-based airport technology magazine (www.airport-technology.com/projects/sacramento-international-airport/) along with his alliance partners on the project. He and his business were also recognized with a permanent bronze plaque on the wall of San Francisco International Airport in California for his role in helping build the airport.
