This one-day conference marks the publication of the second edition of The Oxford Handbook of Corporate Law and Governance (Oxford University Press), edited by Jeffrey N. Gordon (Columbia Law School, University of Oxford and ECGI) and Wolf-Georg Ringe (University of Hamburg and ECGI). The first edition of the Handbook established itself as the definitive interdisciplinary resource in the field; this new edition has been substantially updated and expanded to reflect a decade of significant developments in corporate law and governance scholarship, including the reconception of corporate purpose, the rise of stakeholder capitalism, and the global governance challenges posed by climate change.

The conference brings together leading contributors to the volume for a series of panels spanning the full breadth of the Handbook. Panels will cover topics including sustainability, corporate purpose and social responsibility; institutional investors, stewardship and ownership; transactions, mergers and acquisitions, compliance and disclosure; and the politics of corporate governance, including national security, and global convergence and divergence in corporate law and governance. The conference will conclude with a reception.
