Biography

Cesario Mateus is Senior Lecturer in Finance and Banking at the University of Greenwich Business School, London.

Dr. Mateus holds a PhD in Finance from Aarhus School of Business, University of Aarhus, Denmark and an MSc in Finance and BSc (Hons) in Economics. His research focus is mainly Financial Markets, Portfolio Management, Investment Decisions, valuation, right issues, capital structure and tax issues. He has also worked recently on Hedge Funds and ETF’s performance. He has written several newspaper articles on these subjects and others (Economia Pura, Vida Económica, Jornal de Negócios, etc) and also presented his research in invited seminars and international conferences.

Cesario Mateus teach courses in investments, Portfolio Management, Capital Markets, Corporate Finance and international finance as visiting professor at several Universities which includes: Universitat Pompeu Fabra, (Barcelona), Cass Business School, Aston Business School and Brunel University, (United Kingdom), Catholic University of Lisbon, University of Melbourne (Australia), Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul and Unisinos (Brazil) at both Executive and MSc levels.

He was Visiting Scholar at the Department of Finance at The Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, USA (2003) and consultant of the Portuguese Stock Exchange Commission at the research department (2008-2009) and Banco Comercial Português from 1992 to 1999.
