
Biography
Dr. Abhijeet Chandra is Assistant Professor in Finance and Accounting at the Vinod Gupta School of Management of the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (West Bengal, India). Between July 2012 and October 2014, Abhijeet was a Post-doctoral Fellow (Postdoc) in finance working with Prof. M. Thenmozhi at the Department of Management Studies of the Indian Institute of Technology Madras at Chennai, India. In November 2011, he received his Ph.D. on Behavioral Finance from the Department of Commerce & Business Studies of Jamia Millia Islamia (Central University), New Delhi, India working with his doctoral advisor Prof. Ravinder Kumar. From July 2010 - June 2012, he was working as an Academic Associate in Finance and Control at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore, Karnataka. Prior to and during the doctoral studies, he earned degrees in Accounting, Commerce, and Business Management with a major in Finance. His undergraduate degree in Commerce with Honors in Accounting is from Lalit Narayan Mithila University, Darbhanga, Bihar, India. His major research interests are in behavioral asset pricing, behavioral corporate governance, and individual decision making and risk preferences. He does both theoretical and empirical work and is currently also involved in experimental work. His recent research work on corporate frauds, behavioral asset pricing, corporate finance decisions, among others, has been published in journals of national and international repute, including DECISION (Springer-Nature), Research in International Business and Finance (Elsevier), Managerial Finance (Emerald), Journal of Interdisciplinary Economics (Sage), IIMB Management Review (Elsevier), International Journal of Social Economics (Emerald), and Cogent - Economics & Finance (Taylor & Francis).
