This Conference was part of a larger project on Shareholder Power arising out of a collaboration between the National University of Singapore (NUS) Centre for Law & Business and the Vanderbilt University Law and Business Program. The Conference aimed to bring together leading scholars from around the world to discuss the issue of Shareholder Power from a variety of perspectives.

This Conference built upon the success of an earlier conference organized by Professor Randall S. Thomas, which was held at Vanderbilt Law School in September 2013. The research produced at the two conferences was published as a Research Handbook on Shareholder Power co-edited by Professor Jennifer Hill and Professor Randall S. Thomas and published by Edward Elgar in 2014. The European Corporate Governance Institute has partnered with NUS Law and Vanderbilt Law School to promote this research project.
