Biography

Fabio Braggion is Professor of Finance and Financial History at Tilburg University. His areas of expertise are corporate finance, banking, financial history and fintech. One strand of his research studies how financial markets, companies and banks worked in the past, and how the study of history can help us to understand current economic phenomena. A second area of his research studies how recent technologies have been changing lending and financial intermediation and how they interact with the existing regulation. His work has been published on the Journal of Financial Economics, Review of Financial Studies, the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Journal of the European Economic Association, the Economic Journal, the Journal of Financial Intermediation, and the Journal of Economic History,


He received his PhD in economics from Northwestern University and his BA from Bocconi University.
